On a one-sided game...
"We should have scored 10 and in the end we
lost 1-0. It's very difficult to understand how it
happened. I feel that we missed early chances, especially
one-against-ones with the keeper, then there was always more
pressure on the next one to finish it off. Their keeper had a great
game. In the end they scored one, although it looked to me [to be]
offside. It's very difficult to find a logical explanation for
our defeat today because we produced the performance I expected.
But it's a little bit of a deceit we have shown the whole
season, you know? Creating, creating, creating, and not finishing.
I feel it was one-way traffic from the first to the last
minute."
On missed chances...
"At the moment I have to say it's very
difficult. When you lose a game like that you are always tempted to
blame the players who missed the chances, I feel we just have to
keep going and not put too much pressure on the players who miss
the chances. If they scored the first maybe they would have scored
six!"
On goalkeeper Robert Green...
"I have seen a few here but he had a great
performance today."
On securing a Champions League place...
"I want us to respond well against Newcastle
because it becomes a very big game for us, and in the summer
we'll see what we do."
On the fans' frustration...
"I can always understand the fans frustration.
They want us to win and that's understandable. The players gave
absolutely everything and we have to deal with the frustrations of
the fans. It's part of our job. We have not to judge how people
respond, we have to accept that and deal with that. We have to make
sure we give everything we can and on this side I feel the team
deserve a lot of credit. Of course the fans want us to win the game
and when they see you lose a game like that they are frustrated,
that's normal. "
On West Ham's chances of Premiership survival...
"I don't know, it will be very, very tight
now. You have six or seven teams who are fighting to stay up, I
don't know."
