Arsène Wenger believes Arsenal had looked the most likely victors in Sunday’s game before Danny Welbeck struck the winner for Manchester United.
The Gunners recovered from a difficult first half to take the initiative after the break and Robin van Persie's 71st-minute equaliser seemed to have tipped the balance in favour of the hosts.
However, Welbeck's strike nine minutes from time killed off any hopes of an Arsenal victory and left Wenger ruing his side's "inattention".
"We have seen that so many times. You have to defend every single ball well over 90 minutes. We defended well today overall and it's a shame we were caught just at the moment when we were in control of the game," he told Arsenal Player.
