Arsène Wenger believes Arsenal are in "good shape" to make their mark on the Champions League in the second half of the season.

The draw for the first knockout round takes place in Switzerland from 11am (UK time) on Friday and, as winners of Group H, Arsenal know they will face one of seven group runners-up - Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Stuttgart, Lyon, Porto or CSKA Moscow.

There are some famous names in that list but Wenger is confident that Arsenal can take advantage of playing the second leg of their last-16 tie at Emirates Stadium when the competition resumes in late February.

"I am convinced that we are in a good shape, in a good position to have a good challenge and to go through," said Wenger.

"We go now to a cup formula, there is one advantage and that is that we play the second game at home.

"But they are all big opponents so let’s wait until Friday."
