Arsène Wenger has pledged to "do the maximum" to keep Theo Walcott at Arsenal.
The England international has been in fine form in recent weeks and is currently the first team's top scorer with eight in all competitions.
Walcott's contract expires next summer and he has yet to agree a new deal. Wenger hopes that will change.
"My desire is to keep Theo," he reiterated. "We do what’s needed to keep him and hopefully [as] I told you many times, we can sort this situation out very soon.
"Very soon is before the end of December - one way or another, that is for sure.
"I don’t want to go into any details but you can believe me [that] we do the maximum we can to keep our best players."
