on the performance…
You are always trying to get away from the disappointment of the result and look at the bigger picture. In the first half we played extremely well, we passed the ball well and the only thing that was missing was probably the two or three goals we deserved.

on the first goal…
They scored from kick off [at the start of the second half], which is very disappointing because we have come out and not stayed focused. For someone to run through and score is slightly embarrassing for the players.

on the team's response…
It took us an age to get back into the game, but we did and started to pass it again and got a deserved equaliser. But then the game was settled by a disputed goal from a corner kick, where [Paul McCallum] looks offside. We didn't really get the run of the ball out there.

on not deserving to lose…
It is always hard, even more so when you don't deserve to lose. Sometimes you get beaten, like we did at West Ham, when you know you didn't deserve anything else. But we deserved more from this game. We were beaten by a hard-working, organised side, but an inferior side technically.

on West Ham…
You can see why they have done well in the league, because they have a player like Rob Hall who can score goals out of nothing. He has done it throughout his youth career and he is still doing it now. They work very hard for each other, and they're well-organised, so you can see why they have won a lot of games.
