Kim Little says Arsenal Ladies can’t wait to begin the defence of their Women’s Super League title against Liverpool Ladies at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Shelley Kerr’s side have been WSL champions in both years since its inception and knocked Matt Beard’s side out of the FA Cup at Anfield at the end of May.

Little was the league’s top goalscorer in both 2011 and 2012 and believes home support can make the difference in N5.

"Everyone likes playing in the big stadiums and in front of a lot of people"

“I've been lucky enough to play at the Emirates two or three times already and it's a great occasion,” she told Arsenal.com. “It's one I always really look forward to and hope I can play in. It's great we get the chance to do it. To play Liverpool there will be extra special as well.

“I think it's going to be open to around 5,000 fans and most of those will be Arsenal fans. That makes it special as well. Hopefully we'll have a lot more people watching than we normally do. It's a great occasion to play there.

“Everyone likes playing in the big stadiums and in front of a lot of people. Our motivation will be the same as any game. We want to win and get our league start off to a good season.”
