Arsène Wenger says defeat for Liverpool against Manchester United on Sunday won't necessarily spell the end of their title dreams.

With four defeats already this season, Rafael Benitez's side find themselves in the position Arsenal were in 12 months ago.

But Wenger says last year's title race was more difficult to get back into than this season's will be.

"Last year, the margins were more difficult," said the Arsenal manager.

"Because Liverpool lost only two games, and now we are nine games played and United have lost only once but they have drawn one too.

"Last season, the situation was more difficult. We had lost five after 14 games. But then we had the longest unbeaten run in the Premier League but it was not enough any more."
