on the performance:
It was disappointing. It’s disappointing to get beat. It’s disappointing to get beat 4-1 and it’s disappointing when we put in a performance like that.
They had too much for us on the night. Football’s about doing the right things – be that about conditions, or about the opposition. We gave away poor goals and that’s always disappointing.
You need to rectify that and we didn’t really have enough to cause them problems unless it was late on when [Hector] Bellerin looked like he might do something. There was the occasional run from Gnabry and Ebecilio, but apart from that, it wasn’t enough.
It wasn’t enough to cause them problems, especially from our forward players.
on what he said at full time:
I said it wasn’t good enough. The performances weren’t good enough and they’ll have to do a lot better if they want to push their way into the first team, which this is all about.
on if the squad will learn from the defeat:
We’ve got a lot of young players. Looking at the age of the two teams, we had four 17-year-olds and they’re the ones that need to learn from the game.
