Arsène Wenger admits that Liverpool did not deserve to lose last season's incredible 4-4 draw at Anfield.
Only an injury time strike from Yossi Benayoun denied Arsenal victory on April 21 in one of the games of the campaign.
Although Andrey Arshavin gave the visitors the lead on three separate occasions, ahead of the same fixture this term, Wenger admitted the draw was a fair result on the night.
"We had 4-4 last year and, for us and them, it was a disappointment despite the fact it was a good game," said Wenger.
"They pulled us back in the last minute but, for them, not winning that game was the end of the title race last year. They were in a position where they had to win the game against us and the draw certainly cost them that night.
"However, I must say that on the night Liverpool didn't deserve to lose the game. What got us the 4-4 was the exceptional night Andrey Arshavin had but I think we just lost three days before against Chelsea in the Semi-Final of the FA Cup so there was still some disappointment in our game."
