Henri Lansbury can play anywhere in midfield but he admits that getting forward and influencing the game in the final third is what he does best.

The 19-year-old believes he is most effective further up the pitch where he can link up with the strikers, create chances and, of course, score goals. That’s exactly what Lansbury did at White Hart Lane in the last round of the Carling Cup and the England Under-21 international is looking for more of the same against Newcastle tonight.

“I can offer the team a lot going forward - scoring goals is what I love to do and getting on the ball and creating things for other people,” Lansbury told Arsenal.com.

“I showed what I can do at Tottenham and hopefully I can do the same at Newcastle.

“It was good to get involved in that and I’ve just got to keep pushing myself. I think if I keep working hard at my game then I am good enough to make the step up.”
