Arsène Wenger expects Jack Wilshere to take centre stage in the absence of Cesc Fabregas at Wembley.
The Arsenal captain has been ruled out of the Carling Cup Final with a hamstring injury, forcing Wenger to shuffle his pack for Sunday's showpiece.
Fabregas is regularly the 'go-to' guy in Wenger's team, the creative hub of their offensive game. But Wilshere has grown in stature since breaking into the side this season and the 19-year-old has been tipped to shine against Birmingham.
“He’s had very good games," said Wenger. "His confidence has grown, his responsibility has grown, certainly.
"Our game goes naturally through Fabregas. When he’s not there, it will go more through Wilshere.
"The way of the game is simple: it goes always through the team’s strong points. So that the game goes through Wilshere is a good thing for him because it means the players around him have confidence in him. He will enjoy this game."
