Laurent Koscielny has everything he needs to be a Premier League success, according to one of French football's hottest properties.
Kevin Gameiro played alongside the Arsenal centre back at Lorient before Koscielny left for Emirates Stadium last summer. Gameiro has since moved to PSG and is set for a reunion with his old team-mate when the French side arrive in London for this weekend's Emirates Cup.
Koscielny established himself in the Arsenal back four in the absence of the injured Thomas Vermaelen last season and Gameiro rates the defender highly - as well as one or two other familiar faces.
"Laurent and I played together at Lorient before he left for Arsenal," Gameiro told the Official Matchday Programme.
"I was not surprised to see him doing very well for the Gunners. He is a very good defender, solid and serious and he has everything it takes to succeed at Emirates Stadium.
Gameiro, a lifelong PSG fan, secured his move to the upwardly-mobile Emirates Cup contenders this summer after scoring 22 times in Ligue 1 last season and netting on his international debut for France.
He won't get a chance to test himself against Koscielny - PSG and Arsenal will not meet at the Emirates Cup - but Gameiro is relishing the prospect of facing New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry.
"Thierry is simply the best French striker ever and one of the best in the world," he said. "He is an example for all of us.
"I expect the stadium will be supporting him, and playing against him and New York will be a great experience. However, we are not coming here as tourists. This tournament is the finishing touch of our pre-season preparations before the start of the league so it will be very important for us."
The 76-page Emirates Cup souvenir programme contains interviews with eight players (two from each team), Arsène Wenger and a host of other features. It will be available to buy on both days of the tournament, from club shops and programme sellers, priced at £5.Copyright 2014 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
