Arsène Wenger believes Laurent Koscielny is good value for his place in France’s provisional Euro 2012 squad.

The defender won his first cap for Laurent Blanc’s side against the United States back in November and has been named in Les Bleus’ list of 12 players who ply their trade outside France.

Although Koscielny is not guaranteed a place in Blanc’s final squad for Poland and Ukraine, Wenger insists a chance is just reward for the 26-year-old’s excellent campaign.

“He is right to say he has progressed,” said the Frenchman. “He has done well and got stronger with us and deserves a place in the provisional squad.

“I think he is ready for the Euros. The problem for Laurent is that he doesn't have a lot of options in that position, but he has gained in authority and is ready to play.”
