Shelley Kerr spoke to Arsenal.com after Arsenal Ladies came from behind to beat Birmingham City 2-1 in the Continental Cup.

on the team’s response…
We’re delighted to get the win after losing our first league game on Tuesday night. To bounce back and get the victory is good. It was important we bounced back with a win.

on the performance...
We’d love to have played brilliantly and won. We didn’t, but we probably deserved to win the game with the chances we created. I’m delighted to get the victory today.

on the importance of equalising quickly…
Definitely [it was important]. When you concede goals in football you lose a bit of confidence no matter how good you are as players. It was really important to get the goal quickly and it gave us confidence to go on and try and get another goal.

on the winning mentality at the Club...
They [the players] have got great character, I’ve always said that. They did leave it a little late but I think the important thing is we were still trying to create chances. We were still trying very hard and that shows that we have a winning mentality at this club.

on where the team can go from here...
We drew the first game in the Continental Cup so to get a win today and get three points was excellent. We’ve got another league game soon and we’re desperate to get back to the way that we can play. That’s about keeping it consistent throughout the 90 minutes and I don’t think we’ve been doing that. The goals we’ve conceded can be easily avoided so we’re keen to make amends for that.
