on the overall display...
I thought it was a good performance from box to box but I think we made a few mistakes in our own area. We didn't really threaten, although we did open them up a few times, and Everton were very tough to play against. They are a well-drilled side and we found it difficult to break them down. Obviously I am disappointed to lose the last game of the season, but overall some of the passing and combination play in tight areas was of quite high quality. In some ways it was pleasing on the development side of things, but obviously it was disappointing to lose 2-0.

on the two goals…
We talk about young players doing their jobs within the team, and one or two didn't do their jobs here at times. They switched off for the run and didn't deal with a header that came down the back of us, then we gave away a sloppy corner and conceded a penalty. That is the discipline you must have to play at a high standard - you have to do your job properly. You must be reliable and if you aren't you will get punished against good sides.

on the second-half display…
You make your own luck in scoring. I think in the first half we created better opportunities than in the second half and as the game wore on I expected it to open up a little bit. I was maybe a bit more disappointed in the second-half display than in the first. Ozzy got in once in the first half and we got around the back of them once or twice, and I felt we could have capitalised better than we did. Unfortunately it wasn't our night.

on Everton's performance…
They are strong, well-drilled side. It was a good, hard game to end the season with. I said to the boys that whatever team they play in the Premier League, you will get a really tough match. It was a good tactical match for them.

on the season in general…
I am really pleased with how it has gone. We have introduced young players and they have had a taste of reserve-team football ahead of next season, and they can see what the next level is. They are playing against really good young players and it is all there for them. There are a few in there that could develop even further.
