on Jack Wilshere's performance…
It's like all players when they come back for their first game: they realise how difficult and tough it is. You always have to make that first step, and he has done that today and that is fantastic. He is a quality player, it is great for the Club that he has taken that first step on the road towards getting back into the first team.

on how he felt afterwards...
I think he is delighted to have been back on the pitch, as we all are. It is a start, now he just needs to keep working hard to play the football we know he is capable of playing, which we know is very exciting. When he runs with the ball, it is very close to him and as he runs he always has his head up and is looking for opportunities to play people in. What you can't duplicate in training is that match sharpness and players coming in at you, so he will have benefited from that in this match.

on Emmanuel Frimpong's display…
This league is about development, but it is also about giving players the opportunity to play real football. And we have come to West Brom, played in their main stadium against a good side - it would have helped.

on the match itself…
Not a lot happened in the first half for us. We played a bit too deep and too slow. Apart from a couple of one-twos, in which Jack got Nico [Yennaris] in and Manny got Kyle Ebecilio in on, not a lot else happened. In the second half, we picked up the tempo a bit and really should have got something from the game.

on deserving at least a point…
We said at half time that football is about many things, it is about development, about giving players an opportunity and sometimes people are playing for different reasons. Still the aim is to work hard to win the game. I thought we had to be a bit more positive and try to get more people into goalscoring situations. It just never quite dropped for us. Then Serge Gnabry hit that great shot at the end which hit the inside of the post and went across the goal.

on the positives from the game…
The positives are that we have got two first-team squad members that have come back in and got in more than an hour plus unscathed. then there were pockets of performances from one or two players.
