Reserve team boss Neil Banfield offered Arsenal.com his post-match thoughts following his side's slender 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at Underhill last night.

Head here for the match report of the game.

on the overall team performance…
I thought we made hard work of it. I thought we moved the ball too slowly and I was a little bit disappointed with the performance - but I'm pleased with the win.

on the defence…
Today they kept their discipline. We're trying to teach them and educate them that if we don't concede and we keep our discipline then we will always score. You're always going to play in games like that. But I think we did that well today.

on overcoming a tight game…
I think it is just about being patient and trusting your own game. I think that is what we did tonight. In the end we got one from a corner. We just kept knocking on the door, kept believing in the football that we were playing and didn't get frustrated.

on the need for patience...

We have to keep believing in what we do like the first team do and that is the education we are trying to put in the lads now.
