Arsène Wenger has told Denilson that next time he goes down without being fouled he should stop play by conceding a free-kick - preferably by handling the ball.
The Frenchman's comments came after Everton's James Vaughan went clean through on goal after the Brazilian midfielder went to ground after feeling pains in his side during Saturday's 2-2 draw at Emirates Stadium.
The midfielder was not fouled and didn't have a head injury when he tumbled in the centre circle. Therefore referee Peter Walton couldn't stop play and the Toffees were able to counter-attack moments after scoring their second goal of the game.
Manuel Almunia saved Vaughan's 84th-minute one-on-one effort to keep the Gunners just one goal behind their visitors.
After the match Wenger said that he didn't blame Everton for not putting the ball out and instead came up with a different solution to the problem.
"No. I wasn't [upset that Everton played on]," said the Frenchman.
"I said to Denilson afterwards: ‘If that happens [again] you have to commit a handball.'
"I'm very serious. If you go down, and there hasn't been a foul, you cannot ask Everton to stop their counter-attack and not to score.
"So, if you go down like that, at least put your hand on the ball and it's a free-kick."
Denilson is set to have a scan on Monday to determine the extent of his injury.
