Samir Nasri is surprised that Arsenal are top of the Premier League table - and he intends to make it count.
Arsène Wenger's side have lost four times this season but Chelsea have done exactly the same while Manchester United, though unbeaten, have only won eight games to Arsenal's ten.
That speaks volumes for the competitiveness of the top flight and the improvement of the so-called lesser lights. Nasri remembers a time when the title race would be a one- or two-horse race by Christmas and he is enjoying this season's open contest.
"It is a little bit surprising [that we are top having lost four games] because the first year I was here, Manchester United finished champions and I think they lost just three games during the whole season.
"It is a surprise because United haven’t lost one game during this season but this is football. Every single team is now difficult to beat and we will not complain, we are top of the league and we will enjoy it.
"It is the best chance for Arsenal to win something but not because everyone lost. The Premier League is so difficult now, Tottenham has a good team, Manchester City as well and it is always difficult to beat Fulham away and everyone else too.
"I think now we have a good chance because everyone is more mature and for the first time as well we don’t have too many people injured. We have some important players injured but not as much as before."Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
