Carl Jenkinson played the whole of Arsenal's goalless draw against Marseille at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

We caught the young defender after the game for an exclusive interview, which you can view in the top corner of this screen. Alternatively, scroll below for the full transcript of the interview.

on the point…
Obviously our aim was a win and that's what we went out there to do but it just didn't work out that way and we didn't get that goal. We kept a clean sheet and that's positive - at the end of the day it's in our own hands. We wanted to win the game so in that sense it's disappointing but a point is not a disaster.

on the table against Marseille…
Of course, we're above them on head-to-head and at the moment we're top of the group so it's in our own hands. I'm sure we'll go on and finish off the job now.

on Thomas Vermaelen and Per Mertesacker

They were very solid. At the end of the day we kept a clean sheet and they look like they've already got a good understanding with each other. Obviously they are two world-class players, so it's not going to take long to click. They both look very good together.

on momentum…
We want to win games - even though we got a draw today - and we kept that run going. It's vital that we keep that momentum going. We're playing well at the moment and we just want to keep getting results. Tonight we wanted the three points but we've still kept that unbeaten run going so that is positive.

on coping with Marseille's threat…
I was surprised. They went for it, I thought they would be a lot more reserved with the way they played. To be honest I just thought they'd sit back but they got forward, the full-backs wanted to get forward and at times they were leaving three up front. They didn't come here to lie down, so we have to give them credit for that. But 0-0 is OK, we'll move on now and look forward to Saturday.

on dominating games…

You say that, but Bolton was 3-0 and we have had some very good results lately at Chelsea and such. Maybe you're right in that we haven't swept teams aside but we've played very good opposition - any team in the Premier League you are not just going to walk over. West Brom are a good opposition and we'll show them the respect they deserve but we'll be going out there to get three points on Saturday.

on getting used to the big games…

I'm a bit disappointed with my display tonight butI haven't played for two weeks so I'll build on that. Roll on Saturday.
