Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is ready to share the "good vibes" that Santi Cazorla brings to the Arsenal midfield.

The England international is back in the squad to face Stoke City on Sunday and could line up alongside the Spanish playmaker for the first time in a competitive match.

Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cazorla linked up impressively in Arsenal's final pre-season friendly in Cologne and the 19-year-old is already a big fan of his new team-mate.

"He’s brilliant," said Oxlade-Chamberlain. "He’s a typical Spanish player, really technical. He’s got a good right foot, a good left foot and he can dribble.

"He’s small so he’s not the most physical but that highlights how good he is with his feet and with his mind. From what I’ve seen of him so far in training, he’s brilliant - a really good asset to the squad.

"We saw against Sunderland what he’s capable of. I thought he had a good game, he did a lot of clever things. I played with him in Cologne in midfield and got on really well with him there.

"You know when you get a buzz off a player, and you could bounce off him and get good vibes. Santi has that with everyone because he’s that sort of player."

Cazorla and his fellow new signings are also having a positive impact off the pitch, according to Oxlade-Chamberlain.

"The squad is a tight group and a big part of that has been with the three lads who have come in," he said. "It lifts everyone up having new faces around and when they’re really good players that helps even more.

"Olivier [Giroud], Lukas [Podolski] and Santi have all gelled really well - one of the biggest assets they’ve got is that they’re really good players and really good lads.

"When you’ve got friendly characters who come into the squad and are upbeat from day one it lifts everyone. The boys who have been here last season and for many years, they’re all really close so it’s looking really good.

"It’s a really tight-knit group, it's looking positive for the season and I really feel that we can do good things."
