Arsène Wenger admits he does not know when Abou Diaby will be fit again.
The Arsenal manager had plenty of good news to report at his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon but Diaby was the exception to the rule.
The French midfielder damaged his ankle in a challenge by Bolton's Paul Robinson on September 11. He played no further part in that game but has played four times since for club or country.
Diaby was not at his best in any of those fixtures and has not featured since the win over Birmingham on October 16. Wenger is clearly concerned.
“You look at Diaby since he got this tackle, he has never come back to a normal level," said the manager.
“He was never himself and we have today worries for him. We don't know how long he will be out.
“He has seen two surgeons already and at the moment we have to be patient and see if he can get away with it."Copyright 2017 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source
