Arsène Wenger has no qualms about fielding Marouane Chamakh and Robin van Persie in the same team.
Chamakh has led the line superbly for Arsenal in his debut season, scoring ten goals in 17 starts to ensure the loss of Van Persie to an ankle injury was not too keenly felt.
Wenger now has both strikers at his disposal and, given his penchant for a 4-3-3 formation, some have questioned whether the Moroccan and the Dutchman can both be accommodated. The Arsenal manager believes they can.
“We can play Chamakh and Van Persie together,” he said. “We can play Chamakh up front and Van Persie behind.
“What is interesting is that we can play all kinds of formations with the two.
“I am pleased because Van Persie is getting stronger every day. He had 70 minutes the other night [against Wigan] and I am confident that if we can get him injury-free in the next three weeks he will be back to his best level."
