Arsène Wenger believes Arsenal's record at Emirates Stadium can be their launchpad this season.
The Gunners are in an unfamiliar 15th position heading into Sunday's Premier League clash with Sunderland but, despite an inconsistent start to the season, Wenger's side have been impressive on home soil with five wins out of six games so far.
The Frenchman thinks another three points this weekend can help propel them up the table.
"Our home form is quite good so we just have to continue that at the moment," said Wenger.
"We have been stable defensively at home but Sunderland is a team that has good potential if you look at their players. We had a disappointing result at Tottenham but we have to keep belief in what we do and the way we do it."
A top-four place remains a viable target and it’s worth noting that Tottenham achieved that in 2009/10 despite losing ten games. Not that Wenger will allow his team that much margin for error.
"I don't know how many games we can afford to lose, that depends not only on us but the other teams," he said.
"We need to be consistent, that is what we need. Nobody can tell you today how many games you can lose to be in the top four, but you need to be consistent with positive results. We know that, and that is what we want to achieve in the next games."Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
