Lukasz Fabianski felt the full force of Thierry Henry's comeback on Monday night - and he wasn't even at the game.
The Polish goalkeeper has been recovering from injury and watched Arsenal's FA Cup victory over Leeds United from home. The Third-Round tie will always be remembered for Henry's match-winning contribution and Fabianski was as entranced as the 60,000 packed into Emirates Stadium.
“It looked really amazing," he told Arsenal Player. "I was watching the game at home, and first of all you could feel the buzz when Thierry was coming on and then when he scored the goal, it was an amazing feeling.
"That goal showed everything about him, his technique, his quality, his first touch, his confidence, his calmness - it was just amazing to see it.
“You could see with the goal his movement is fantastic, his timing as well to avoid being offside, the finishing to be so calm. There was pressure on him but he showed that he is so confident in his finishing that he didn’t [allow] any negative emotions in, he just kept his calmness and finished like he has done before for Arsenal. It was pure quality."
Henry is the latest member of Arsène Wenger's 'Invincibles' squad to return to the first-team set-up following short-term deals for Sol Campbell and Jens Lehmann in recent seasons. Fabianski has made the most of having them around.
"They bring experience, they have been there before and had success," he said. "For the short period of time when they are back they are bringing experience. They talk to the younger players and tell them how to react on the pitch and where to move.
"You could see it in the Leeds game, you could see Theo [Walcott] and Thierry talking on the bench about some situation on the pitch and Thierry, with his experience, can tell us how to react in certain situations."
