Arsène Wenger admits he is eagerly anticipating an FA Cup Third Round tie against Leeds United.

The Yorkshire side are back on the rise after a bleak period in their illustrious history that saw them drop from the Champions League to League One in just six years. Wenger knows the Yorkshire side have pedigree, especially in the FA Cup.

At the same stage last season Simon Grayson’s side upset all the odds when they knocked out Manchester United at Old Trafford and then took Tottenham to a replay before eventually succumbing to defeat.

“That is always an interesting game,” said Wenger. “Especially [because] Leeds last year had a fantastic run.

“That’s in January so let’s do well until January.

“Our target is to get to Christmas in a strong position in all the competitions and then we see where we will go.”
