Cesc Fabregas... celebrating his goal against Tottenham
'Cesc couldn’t score Spurs goal at 20'
By Richard Clarke
Arsène Wenger believes Cesc Fabregas would not have been able to score the goal pictured above two years ago.
The Spaniard, still just 22, has been a regular in the Arsenal midfield for five years and captain for 11 months. However his manager feels critics sometimes overlook the fact he is still developing.
“When you see the run of Fabregas on Saturday,” said the Frenchman ahead of the AZ game. “He would not be capable of doing that two years ago.
“Why? Because at 22 you are more powerful than at 20.
“What people forget is that these players are very young and that it is normal and natural that they develop into stronger players.
“That is why I feel there is a lot more to come from them.”
