'Be a Gunner. Be a Runner' final call

Be A Gunner Be A Runner 2012
Last season's event was the most successful yet

Arsenal Football Club is issuing a final call for anyone who would like to participate in this year’s ‘Be a Gunner. Be a Runner’ event at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, March 23.

Around 500 runners young and old are expected to complete the popular charity fun-run around the outside of the Gunners’ home, which this year is raising money for The Arsenal Foundation - the Club’s grant making charity that helps to transform the lives of young people through a range of projects in the UK and overseas.

Registration for the 10-lap, 6.4km adult race remains open and anyone interested in taking part can sign up using the official entry form at www.regonline.com/bagbar2013. Entry costs £15, which will go towards the Arsenal Foundation and participants are also encouraged to raise sponsorship to help support the Foundation’s projects.

Any young Gunners aged 14 or under can also sign up for the shorter one or two lap junior race by visiting https://www.arsenal.com/juniorgunners/news/on-your-marks-for-be-a-gunner-be-a-runner-. Entry for the junior race costs £5.

The day is shaping up to be another great event, with plenty of other family-friendly activities on offer. Youngsters will be able to test their shooting skills and accuracy on the speed cage and target practice game, while the ‘green screen’ photography booth will allow you grab your own taste of glory and celebrate with the Arsenal players! Gunnersaurus will also be in attendance and the Club hopes to confirm one or two special guests on the day!

This year’s event has also seen a huge level of global interest, with more than 50 different individuals and groups from over 25 countries set to take part in their own independently-organised events around the globe. From Nigeria to Norway and Croatia to Canada, global Gooners the world over will be uniting on the 23 March to help raise awareness and funds for The Arsenal Foundation.

If you’re an overseas fan and would like to get involved, simply devise a 6.4km route (the equivalent of 10 laps of Emirates Stadium) and email it to bagbar2013@arsenal.co.uk. We will then send each confirmed participant an official running number to wear during the run.
