Arsène Wenger believes Andrey Arshavin's talents are so exceptional that he can play in every attacking role.

The playmaker has started his last two Arsenal games filling in as the central striker and has scored in both matches, taking his tally for the season to eight.

The 28-year-old usually plays on the left side of the Gunners' front three but the Russia captain spearheaded the attack to great success against Stoke City and Liverpool.

And manager Wenger says Arshavin could play anywhere across the front three for a long time to come.

"For me, Andrey Arshavin is an exceptional player," he said.

"He can play in every offensive position for as long as he wants."
