Women's FA Cup finalists ready for action
Laura Harvey and England International Steph Houghton
With just under two weeks to go until The FA Women's Cup sponsored by E.ON 2011 Final between Arsenal and Bristol Academy, representatives of both clubs travelled to Coventry, the host city, on a charm offensive.
Gunners' boss Laura Harvey and England International Steph Houghton joined up with Bristol duo Ann-Marie Heatherson and one time Gunner Corinne Yorston, to publicise The Final and to familiarise themselves with the surroundings at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena. They were also joined by X Factor finalist Paije Richardson, who'll be providing the half-time entertainment on the day.
The Gunners will be looking to lift the prestigious trophy for an eleventh time, with Bristol in search of their first win in the competition. The two sides have met in the FA Women's Cup three times before, each time at the Semi-Final stage - and each time Arsenal have emerged victorious, en route to glory.
The Arsenal Ladies will know they're in for a tough game come Saturday thee 21st May though, with ‘the Vixens' boasting an array of international talent in their side. And After defeat by Everton in last season's Final, Houghton says she and her team mates are hungrier than ever for success:
"There was a lot of talk of revenge when we played Everton in the Fifth Round and that Final defeat really spurred all the girls on," she said. "I know they do not want to go through that losing feeling again. We just need to make sure we are prepared on the day. We are taking nothing for granted."
