Ellen White has been voted England Women's Player of the Year for 2011.

White won the award after a fine season for her country in which she finished joint-top goalscorer alongside fellow Arsenal Ladies star Rachel Yankey.

The 22-year-old's 13 appearances for the year - including those as part of England's 2011 World Cup squad - were eclipsed only by vice captain Casey Stoney.

The award caps a superb year for White, who was also an integral part of Arsenal's domestic treble success.

Everton midfielder Jill Scott finished second in the Player of the Year poll, with former Gunner Kelly Smith in third.

Meanwhile, Niamh Fahey picked up the Republic of Ireland's senior player of the year accolade.
