Goals from Ellen White and Rachel Yankey gave England a 2-0 win over Japan on Tuesday and secured top spot in World Cup Group B.
The Arsenal pair found the net either side of half time as Hope Powell’s side coasted to victory in Augsburg, Germany.
White opened the scoring with a sublime lob from outside the area on the quarter-hour mark and Yankey, who was introduced as a half-time substitute, made things safe with a neat finish after 66 minutes.
Arsenal and England captain Faye White was rested.
England will now play France in the Quarter-Finals on Saturday.
