It’s amazing to think that one week today we will be opening the Olympic Games with our match against New Zealand at the Millennium Stadium. We all feel so honoured and everybody wants to make sure we put on a performance and get as many fans behind us as possible.

You can’t put into words how it feels to be on the cusp on playing in an Olympic Games - it really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It is going to be an unbelievable experience and it’s a real privilege to be part of this team. We can't wait to get started.

Once the New Zealand match comes along I think we will all truly feel like Olympians. We're all focused on that first game, and at the moment we are trying to do two training sessions a day. It is pretty structured and everybody is just making sure they know their roles before the tournament starts.

There might be a little bit more focus on the opposition in Team GB than at Arsenal because these are one-off games and we need to win as many as possible. With Arsenal you play over a long season and you have the chance to put any defeats right the next week - but it will be very different at the Games.

I find Hope Powell’s methods great. Obviously we have been successful over the last few years and have qualified for major tournaments. She has certainly helped me improve as a player. She is very thorough, whether that is on the opposition or how to improve your game.

It's so special to be part of an Olympic Games - it is definitely up there alongside a World Cup for me. It only comes around every four years and to have it right here in your own country is just unbeatable. Everybody is buzzing and we can't wait to play. Only seven days to go…
