Next season Kelly Smith wants to be a European champion. It's as simple as that.

Of course, maintaining Arsenal's status as the dominant force on the domestic stage is high on the list of priorities. However, Smith feels that to be considered among the elite, the Club must emulate their success of 2007.

Then, Vic Akers led his side an unprecedented 'Quadruple', encapsulating all three domestic trophies and the Uefa Cup. It was the Club's first triumph on the continent. Last term, though, while still suffering the affects of a demanding World Cup campaign, the Ladies crashed out at the Quarter-Final stage to French champions Lyon.

"Each year we strive to do better," Smith told Arsenal.com. "We were really disappointed to go out at the Quarter-Finals of Europe this time, considering we were holders.

"That competition is the biggy. The one everyone really wants but obviously at Arsenal we enter every competition and want to win it. The League, FA Cup and the League Cup, but for everyone at the Club, nothing can beat winning the Uefa Cup.

"For me personally, I have added desire as I didn't play in the Final in 2007 due to suspension. We want another European Final."
