Arsenal's Rachel Yankey says she probably scored one of the best goals of her career to seal the WSL Continental Cup win over Birmingham.
The winger capped her player of the match performance with two goals, a free kick followed by a wonder volley and she said a goal like her second doesn't happen very often.
"It was a good pass from Jayne Ludlow. It bounced up in front of me and I just instinctively hit it.
The free kick came off Rachel Williams' head but I'll take it," she said.
Arsenal had to endure sustained periods of Birmingham pressure and Yankey admitted they struggled at first.
"We didn't start well at all and we couldn't get into the game but once the first goal went in it was like everyone wanted to play."
Birmingham had the better of the first quarter of the game but Arsenal stormed back to score twice in two minutes through Ellen White, then a header from captain Ludlow before Yankey's free kick made it three.
Birmingham pulled a goal back through substitute Isobel Christiansen before Yankey's second.
Arsenal manager Laura Harvey said she was pleased at the way her team responded after a poor start.
"I couldn't believe we were two goals up because we had been so bad," Harvey said.
"Sometimes you can sit back when you score and rest on your laurels but to go on and score a second so quickly completely changed the momentum of the game.
"I thought we defended really well and when you stop that threat, sometimes they struggle to find other options."
Birmingham boss David Parker admitted they were beaten by the better side but still thought the final score was flattering.
"We didn't create the clear cut opportunities Arsenal did and Rachel (Yankey) has taken two great finishes today which has made the difference," he said.
"We switched off just before the (opening) goals. It wasn't the worst mistakes, we just didn't track and pick up and you get punished."Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
