Laura Harvey says Arsenal Ladies cannot wait for their chance to face Japan’s finest.

Harvey and her squad embark on an 11-day tour of the country from Thursday and their first match is a charity game against the Japanese Football League champions, INAC Kobe.

Japan’s women claimed World Cup glory in the summer and Harvey admits she can’t wait to get started.

“To be able to go out there and pitch ourselves against that level of opposition is massive,” she said. “It's probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“Obviously the exposure over there is massive. With the Japanese women's team having won the World Cup too, again the timing couldn't be better.”

“This tour been in the pipeline for a while and now it's something we've managed to do,” Harvey added. “We often have the exchange the other way around most summers and now it's a great chance for us to do it.

“The timing of it has actually worked out perfectly with the end of our season. To finish the year like this after such a fantastic season is great.”
