Laura Harvey believes Arsenal Ladies can step up a level now Kelly Smith is back in the squad.
The England star is set to return to action in Sunday’s crucial Women’s Super League clash against Birmingham at Meadow Park after three months on the sidelines.
“Kelly is a world-class player and to have somebody like that who hasn't even kicked a ball yet is always nice,” Harvey told Arsenal.com.
“With the international players away I have been working with her over the last two or three weeks and, credit to her, she has been working really hard to try and get herself in the best possible shape for Sunday.
“Just being able to have somebody like her come back into training and be around the players is just a boost really.
“We have to use it to our advantage, I don't think we need to single Kelly out and say everything is alright now because we have her back. We know as a team that we want to strive to be better and Kelly can help us to do that.
“She is never going to be able to do it on her own and we have players in the team at the moment who are hitting form. Kim Little is scoring goals again, Gemma Davison is on form and Jordan Nobbs has been finding the net, so it adds to competition for places. That is always what you want when you have a good squad."
