on getting the job done…
We knew it was always going to be tough against Gothenburg and our plan was to keep it tight in the first half and then maybe go for it a bit more in the second half. I think even in the first half we played well and their goal was against the run of play really, probably their first attack. But I am pleased we scored three goals and it puts us in a good position for the next leg.

on showing character…
I thought up until their first goal we had played really well actually, we started really brightly. It is the same for both teams but to play such a high-tempo game in only your second game of the season was always going to be tough. I think we dealt with that well though and the changes in the second half gave us a bit more of an attacking threat. We had a couple more chances than the three we scored but in the end they were well-worked goals.

on looking destined for a draw…
I think unless we made the changes it might have petered out into a draw. You have to make a decision - do you go for it, try to score and open yourself up to concede or do you see the game out and go in happy with a 1-1? We just decided that we could still be solid but just change the attack a little bit by bringing on Jennifer Beattie, who just adds a different dimension up front.

on a crucial third goal…
It is massively crucial and that is why we made the change we did later on because we thought we had them on the ropes then. To get a fourth would probably have put the game out of their sights but in the end it was three and Ellen's goal just gives us that two-goal cushion. We know that if we score any out there it makes their job even harder.

on conceding the away goal…
We were disappointing with it yes, especially the manner in which we did with the players we have in our side. We shouldn't be conceding quick free-kicks like that so on that front we are disappointed.
