Laura Harvey admits that Arsenal Ladies' title hopes were in tatters before Kim Little’s goal rescued a valuable point in their top of the table clash against Birmingham.

After the result the Gunners sit two points behind the Blues but with an all-important game in hand. If Arsenal win their remaining three matches against Doncaster, Everton and Liverpool they will be crowned FA Women's Super League champions.

And Harvey is delighted that her side’s WSL destiny lies in their own hands.

“It would have been a disaster had we come away with no points but now we still have the title in our own hands. That is all you can ask for,” she told

Birmingham took the lead through WSL top scorer Rachel Williams but Arsenal hit back in the second half thanks to Little’s third goal in two games.

“We started slowly in the first half but we were much better in the second half. I thought a draw was a fair result and we were good value for our point," said Harvey.

“We must now focus on getting maximum points out of our last three matches.”
