Laura Harvey hailed the role of “magnificent” Kim Little after the Scottish international’s inspirational display in Arsenal Ladies’ 3-1 win over Chelsea.

Little scored twice and created a third as Harvey’s side stormed to the top of the Women’s Super League in front of over 5,000 supporters at Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

The 21-year-old doubled her goal tally for the season with her brace and manager Harvey was delighted with the young midfielder’s contribution once more.

“She is a magnificent player who has had a tough time lately,” Harvey told Arsenal Player.

“She hadn't scored for a while actually and had missed a couple of penalties. I think for her as an individual it was a great night. To get two goals and set up the other was a great performance from a magnificent player.”

Arsenal created a new Super League record with their bumper attendance against the Blues and Harvey was thrilled with the excellent turn-out.

“We always love coming here because the Arsenal fans back us all the time,” she said. “The girls are used to having a massive cheer when they score, just little things like that make a big difference. To come here and play at such a magnificent stadium is always an honour.”
