Laura Harvey never thought she would end 2011 as a Treble-winning manager.
The Arsenal Ladies boss has overseen a glorious 12 months at the helm, masterminding victories in the Women’s Super League, FA Cup and Continental Cup.
The last few years have been a transitional period with a number of established players moving on while younger prospects have emerged. And Harvey admits a domestic clean sweep was not expected.
“If you'd have asked me 12 months ago if we'd have won the Treble, I'd probably have said no,” she told Arsenal.com.
“It was obviously a massive target but one that we all thought was probably out of our reach. To be able to do that was just magnificent.
“Credit to the players; it has been a gruelling 12 months, it hasn't stopped, we've worked as hard as we possibly can and it's been a squad effort.
“It's not just been the starting XI who have been successful, we've probably had 27 players who have been a part of it.”
