Harvey - Chapman has had a major impact

By Chris Harris

Laura Harvey has hailed the influence of Katie Chapman after the England midfielder produced another late show to keep Arsenal Ladies' European dream alive.

Chapman thundered home a long-range effort 11 minutes from time to secure a 2-2 draw with Linkoping in Sweden on Wednesday and take the Gunners through to the Semi-Finals on the away goals rule.

The 28-year-old made an even later intervention to see off Rayo Vallecano in the last 16 of the Champions League in November, just weeks after she returned to the Club following a six-month stint with Chicago Red Stars in the United States.

Needless to say, Harvey is delighted Chapman decided to come home.

"You can’t buy someone with the attitude that Kate has got,” Harvey told Arsenal.com.

“She is such a fighter and epitomises what we are about at the moment. When you match that with the quality that she possesses, it makes her such a high-quality player and that has shone through in pretty much every game we have played.

“We are not a one-woman team by any means but Kate has had a big impact on our squad. Off the pitch, as well as on it, she is a great girl to have around. She pulls a lot of the younger ones through and shows them the right way to do things. It’s been great to get her back."
