WSL fans came out in force to vote for the Goal of the Month competition for April as a part of the Call the Shots campaign.
With 5 outstanding goals to choose from it was always going to be a fiercely contested competition and despite a clear leader for most of the week, a late surge in votes swung the decision with Arsenal's Jennifer Beattie taking the award with her long range match winner against Bristol.
Beattie was understandably delighted with her award: "It's a massive thing. It's a new league so to get recognition for goal of the month in the very first month is a huge thing."
The Arsenal star took the award with 37% of the vote just 2% ahead of Chelsea midfielder, Dani Buet.
