Arsenal Ladies can confirm that Alex Scott has signed for Boston Breakers and will join the Massachusetts side early March 2009 ready for the commencement of the Women’s Professional Soccer league in April.

Scott (24) who has been with the Club since she was eight, apart from a two-year stint with Birmingham City Ladies FC (2003-2005), has made 172 appearances for the Gunners to date, and has scored 20 times in all competitions including the only goal in the 2007 UEFA Women’s Cup Final against Swedish side Umea IK. Alex is also an integral part of the national set up with 43 caps to her name for England and eight goals for the Lions.

Alex’s departure in March ensures her availability for the FA Tesco Women’s League Cup Final on 26th February at Scunthorpe United’s stadium, Glanford Park, where the Gunners will face Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Alex the best of luck during her time with Boston Breakers.
