Holders Arsenal are now on course to lift The FA Women's Cup for a fifth successive season, but must first face Everton who now await in The Final. Arsenal cruised passed Chelsea after an emphatic 4-0 win in the semi final on Sunday 4th April, w hen Julie Fleeting, Kim Little and Faye White all scored before the break before Jayne Ludlow added a fourth in the second half. Arsenal's semi final goals and highlights can be seen by clicking here.
Everton Beat Barnet by 2 goals to nil in their Semi final and will be looking to make up for missing out in the FA Women's Premier League Cup Final losing 3-2 to Leeds Carnegie back in February this year.
This represents the third occasion that The FA Women's Cup Final has taken place at the City Ground and Arsenal were present on both occasions! The stadium still holds the record attendance for a domestic women's game in England, with a crowd of 24,582 attending the 2008 Cup Final between Arsenal and Leeds. The City Ground also hosted the 2007 Final between Arsenal and Charlton.
It is hoped the match, taking place Bank Holiday Monday May 3 2010, will attract the highest ever attendance for a domestic women's game in England. The international crowd of 29,092 for England's victory against Finland at the City of Manchester stadium in 2005 is still a record for a women's match in England.
Tickets are now sale now and cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. A group discount (minimum 15 people with 1 adult per 10 children) is available at the cost of £3 for adults and £2 for children.
