on the performance…
It was similar to the Everton game really. We had a lot of the ball and played well when we had it but we weren't good enough in both 18-yard boxes. When you aren't good enough there you a) concede goals and b) don't score enough. I think that was the reality here. Playing in between both boxes it wasn't even a contest, but unfortunately you don't win matches if you don't score goals. We have been kicked in the teeth again because of that. Bristol defended quite well but the chances we created were quite limited because we weren't good enough in their box.

on Bristol's opener…
It affected us a little bit but we are better than that. I think we continued to play though. It was always going to be a touch of class that got us a goal but unfortunately we didn't have enough of that.

on her half-time team talk…
I said to them that their gameplay was good in between the two boxes. When we had the ball we were good, it was just that we were not clinical enough in front of goal. That went into the second half. It is something that has happened in a lot of games recently - we have played really well without finishing teams off. That happened again here.

on Kelly Smith's goal...
That is what Kelly can do. World-class players only need a second to prove themselves and again she just proved why she is who she is with that strike.

on Jayne Ludlow's return…

It was good to get her some minutes. It is great to have a character like her around the dressing room, both on and off the pitch because she has a good influence over the girls. Hopefully we can keep her fit now.

on improving on this performance…
It is vital. But we battered Chelsea at the Emirates and then lost to them five days later. If we can better this performance I don't think we need to worry about the game on Monday. It is Bristol's third game in a week and I think we have to capitalise on that.

on potential changes...
We have a big squad and we can change personnel around to utilise players a bit more, which we tried to do tonight. But sometimes you just have to look at the squad you have and decide which is going to be the best one to beat the team in front of you.
