Tony Gervaise
'We're improving on excellence at Arsenal'
On the 2-0 win...
"They were well organised and very physical and we knew it would be a difficult game. It's job done today, two clean sheets and we're in the Quarter-Final."
On the draw for the Quarter-Finals...
"We've won this trophy in the past and we don't fear anybody. We're only focused on Arsenal. We'll see who we get and have them looked at and we'll go for it. But we want to put the Champions League to bed now and focus on the Premier League until the Quarter-Final comes in March."
On eight seasons in the Quarter-Finals...
"It's fantastic. Especially given the players we've lost. If you listed the players that we've lost, they'd have won the Premier League [in a team together]. Yet this group produced that and won the domestic treble. It's fantastic consistency and we're working on keeping that going. I call it improving excellence. The attitude of everybody here is all about making Arsenal first."
On having a young side at Arsenal...
"That's the progression here. What's the point in setting up an academy if you then don't give the kids the target of first-team football? It's a young side and we're happy with the way things are progressing."
On the upcoming games against Sunderland...
"They are all difficult games [in the Premier League]. We're focusing on that game now and we'll try and get three points. We were meant to have Nottingham Forest but that's been postponed so it's Sunderland twice. It will be a good test because they are not a bad team and we certainly won't underestimate them."
On the travelling the players have done recently...
"With the travelling these guys have done and the games they have played in the last month and a half, they are a bit heavy legged. Some of them have been travelling over 8,000 miles and it takes it out of you."
