On the team’s performance…
We didn’t start very well in the first half and we got what we deserved, which was to go behind. The momentum changed in the second half and we deserved to get a goal back. Now it’s finally poised for the second leg.

On a few second-half changes…
I think Danielle [Carter], Jordan [Nobbs] and a few of the younger players give you something different. A tweak to the formation and pulling Kim [Little] back a little bit meant she could get on the ball a little bit more. You try to get your best ball players on the ball as much as possible and Kim didn’t seem to get on the ball too much in the first half.

On some crucial saves from Emma Byrne
She did really well in the first half. It’s been tough for Emma in recent years because she has tended not to be too busy. When called upon she showed her ability, especially in the first half when she pulled off some saves that, in fairness, she should never really save. That showed why she is such a top-class keeper. That’s why she’s been here for such a long time.
