On taking the slender lead to Sweden…
“We will sit and think about what we are going to do now. Obviously the last time we went out there our gameplan worked for us. I think we will probably be a little bit more offensive, perhaps not from the start, but we will try and put as much pressure on them as we possibly can. As you can see they have got people who can play and come forward so it may be the case that we need to pen them back.

“Obviously they have scored two goals away from home. It is either you survive or you go over there and win 1-0 or 2-0. That is the scenario, we must win or draw out there, otherwise it is backs to the wall. But we will be there and we will give it our best shot just like we did when we last faced them.

“We went to sleep a bit for the second goal and obviously we will be mindful of that and make sure we are a little bit sharper in the return leg."

On the open nature of the tie…
“I think we obviously made it quite open and after the first 20 minutes we came to terms with having a bigger belief in ourselves and took the game to them a little bit more. We proved that was the winning formula for us and I think in terms of goals it could have been three or four more but sadly we weren’t as sharp in front of goal as we usually are. A few chances did get away so let’s hope we don’t regret those in the end.”

On his team’s reaction after going 2-1 down…
“Of course, it was a great response and we were on the verge of making a sub at that time and Rachel [Yankey] had to sit back down. That is what group morale is about and that is why we are so strong. We have got good bench players who have come in and done a job again and that’s important.”

On Julie Fleeting’s heroics from the bench…
“She has not played enough games in terms of actual match time for a starting position but obviously coming on and getting the goal is good and I’m pleased for her.”

On the differences between Umea now and in the 2006/07 final…
“I think they are fairly similar. Obviously Marta not playing is a loss for them and Edlund has been concussed so I’m not sure if she will play in seven days, so that will be a loss for them as well. I don’t know why Marta didn’t come on a little bit earlier."
