on the result…
It was always going to be tough because Everton are a good side. This now brings to an end a six-game period over these last couple of weeks so that is a credit to the girls. In the first half I thought we played some really good football and created some decent chances which we just couldn't finish. But we knew we had a lot of possession throughout the game, we just had to make our chances count. Thankfully in the second half we did.

on half-time team talk…
I just reminded the girls that sometimes football is cruel and when you control a game like we did in the first half and don't score, that one decisive goal can make a massive difference. Thankfully we got the first one, although they had the best chance of the game just prior to that. But whoever scored the first goal it was always going to be massive.

on the response…

I am really pleased with everyone, we knew this game was going to be a tough one. The rivalry between the two sides is a respectful one but every year it gets stronger and it is going to be no different this year. We had to perform and I thought we played quite well over 90 minutes.

on knocking out Everton…
That is two years in a row now that we have had Everton in the earlier rounds of the competition and thankfully we have been able to get on top of them in both ties. When you knock out your rivals it hopefully makes your journey to the final a little bit smoother. But seeing the other results, all the WSL teams are through to the semi-finals, so whoever we get in the next round is going to be tough.

on a good start to the season…
It is always tough when we get to the latter stages of the Champions League because whatever games everybody else has on the Sunday, we always have that midweek match as well. Travelling and the rest of it is always tough. But we have had a good start domestically and I think we have balanced the squad so that everybody is starting to get some minutes now. I am in a lucky position where I can do that.

on Frankfurt…

It is going to be tough. I managed to get both their quarter-final matches on television so I could see them. German teams are always strong but thankfully we have a little bit of a breather in terms of no midweek fixtures until then so we can prepare properly for it. Going out there in the second leg will be tough but we have to get them here first and try to do the business in the first leg. If we can do it like we did against Gothenburg then that would be great.
